    Guidelines and Review Criteria for Technical Papers

    Guidelines for Technical Papers

    1. The Papers must be worth being heard and/or purchased by meeting attendees and others because it makes a new and original contribution to the state of the art or is a constructive review of its technical field.
    2. Commercialism must be avoided.
    3. Each paper must be free of technical errors.
    4. Performance claims and all conclusions must be supported by test data or validated simulation.
    5. Editorial quality must be maintained at a high level.
    6. Authors or co-authors may not be a reviewer on their own papers.

    Review Criteria for Technical Papers
    Technical Papers must report the latest technology and trends in combustion, emissions, fuels, lubricants and alternative fuels technology from a global perspective. The following criteria will be adopted for final manuscript acceptance:

    • Content and Scope
    • Organization and Presentation
    • Quality of Data and Validity of Analytical Techniques
    • Soundness of Conclusions
    • Editorial Quality

    Deadline for Abstracts submission was October 31st.
    Manuscripts due to Organizer's: November 30, 2004
    Final Manuscripts due to SAE: March 10, 2005

    A Word about Commercialism

    The Programme Committee has a stated policy against use of commercial trade names, company names, or language that is commercial in tone in titles, text or slides. Use of such terms will result in careful scrutiny by the Programme Committee in evaluating abstracts and the presence of commercialism in the paper may result in it being withdrawn from the programme.
